             INDONESIA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY

     Assalamu Wr. wb

  First, I would like to thank God, who gave me the time to speak at this special moment. Also to the Prophet Muhammad, family, and friends.

Declaration of Independence of Indonesia was officially declared at 10.00 am sharp on Friday, August 17, 1945. The declaration marked the start of a five-year diplomatic and armed-resistance of the Indonesian National Revolution, fighting against the forces of the Netherlands until the latter officially acknowledged Indonesia's independence in 1949. In 2005, the Netherlands declared that they recognize the independence of Indonesia was in 1945, not 1949.

   Every year on August 17, in Indonesia celebrate Independence Day. It's very fun. There are a lot of contests, such as Pinang Rock. And at the Presidential Palace, they have a ceremony. Maybe, some of you are going to celebrate. You have the spirit of Independence Day, you saw our heroes, and they held graduation to gain freedom. And we, we as students, we must have the spirit to celebrate Independence Day. If you claim you are an Indonesian, you should be concerned about Indonesia, Indonesia's Independence Day, and the rest of Indonesia you have to like, because your country.
